Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! (That is the angels singing, I'm sure. Wait...maybe it's just me singing. Whatever.)

I loooove you, Stand Mixer!
What's that you say? My birthday is still a month away? Ooops! :) It was on sale. A lot. With a rebate.

Ha! My actions are redeemed by my frugality! Right, honey?

*Ahem*

So...I'm makin' bread! My mom and I make bread every year for Christmas, but it's just a plain white bread recipe and I figured it was still close enough to Christmas...kind of. I mean, it's only 11 months away. It said the recipe made one loaf, but if you doubled the recipe, it made three. It lied. It really still makes two...or three short loaves. Which I soon found out.
See this fun meatloaf pan? It has holes in the top so that the greasy gross business falls below the meat! I made meatloaf for dinner with my mixer, too. It's amazing how wonderful making meatloaf is when you DON'T have to use your hands to mix it!
See the holes? Yeah. So, the bottom pan is still good for makin' bread. All my loaf pans were a Christmas present from my mom...Thanks Mom!
Oh, "short" bread brushed with butter and making my house smell very "Susie-Home-Maker"...how I love you...but don't eat you. Hhhhmm....
K...gotta run to read Thomas the Train to my kids!

  1. Ohhhh! I may soon see one of these in my future! I let the breadmaker make the bread though, but as soon as I read that its mixed your MEATLOAF, I am sooo all over that...I hate, loathe, dispise, hate (oh wait, I said that)touching ground beef!!! Hence the reason we NEVER have meatloaf at my house! We love meatloaf and my poor children have never experienced it cause I hate, loathe, dispise, hate (oh oops, I did it again! - classic brittany, I digress) touching ground beef! - or any ground meat for that matter....hmmmm, Amazon, did you say?

  6. You can do anything with those mixers! cookies, cakes, bread (banana bread is a breeze), mashed potatoes, meatloaf, seriously anything! We got ours as a wedding gift and I wasn't much of a Susie Homemaker when we got married and we had NO counter space so it sat in the closet in the box for a year, we decided to make cookies the following Christmas and I pulled it out and it's been on my counter EVER SINCE THAT DAY! I LOVE it. It's by far my favorite mini appliance.

  7. Hey- weren't we talking about this at MOMS in Dec? I'm so glad you have one! And red is just awesome. You are going to love it. I make everything it in- frosting is a breeze. I even make ranch dressing in it. Enjoy! And happy early birthday!

  9. Beck...I'm pretty sure we're related somehow!!! I love that I'm not the only one who hates, loathes, despises, hates...touching ground beef! However, I do make it...with the medical gloves on that you can buy at Costco : )...but now that Carrie has taught me the mixer does it...all over that too!!! :)))
